ARTefacts is an exhibition by Connections Fibre Artists
at the Wellington County Museum and Archives in Elora,Ontario.
Each artist chose an object from the Museum collection of artefactcs,
and used that as the inspiration for a fibre related work of art.

| I chose antique and vintage irons as my inspiration, and used an antique iron as a print block to print an abstract landscape undulating in the mist for "Irons in the Mist" (40" x 30") on the left. Colour Vie pigments www.colourvie.com on cotton. Machine quilted. I also printed a set of napkins using antique irons. |

| "Flower Power Irons" (40" x 40")
When i was a child, my mother gave me a toy iron
to play with when she was ironing.
As a textile artist I have done my fair share of
ironing, and always found it calming and meditative.
I used that same toy iron to print the fabric for this
quilt - a kind of mandala in honour of all the women
who have ever spent time at the ironing board.
